Dogs have instincts and revert to their instincts. Only after years of tolerating the dogs of friends have I come to this difficult conclusion. My friends’s dogs have killed my neighbors’ dogs, and they have mutilated my friends children. They have harassed my neighbor’s sheep. And all this according to their breeds. But my friends always maintained that their dogs are warm and cuddly and good with children. Clearly dogs were bred to do our dirty work. Cleaning them up and putting pretty ribbons in their hair will never change what they were bred to do in the first place: dirty deeds too dangerous for us to even contemplate.
This leads me to suspect that Michael Vick may have some shady ancestors, too. Just like his dogs.
