The president is on record that he wants to implement a government run single payer option. Now that he has to make more than hard core leftists/welfare dependents happy to retain power, he deals in ambiguity until he gets his agenda implemented. So we get nonsense like the idea that a “public option” in which the “public option” gets unlimited subsidy from taxpayers and a direct connection to the regulators will allow private insurers to survive.
Until healthcare reform is done without a “public option” or dead all together, we need to keep the pressure on.
