I got to thinking about it this morning and I’ve thought of one last reason why I don’t want the cops running around with assault rifles over and above the technical reasons. Remember Katerina and the confiscations? There were plenty of laws against those confiscations but that mindless pack of thugs did em anyway. It’s convinced me that on balance, I’d rather see the cops outgunned by everybody, than to ever have to see anything like that again. If the police could be trusted, they’d have refused Nagin’s order.
