The author is correct about the misuse of scientific opinion. With pick-and-choose data as the basis for legislation, destructive political agendas can be advanced regardless of merit or consequence. Consider this climate data that an EPA employee claims is being ignored by his bosses. I printed this up weeks ago and took it to work for others to see.

This climate data endangers the passage of Waxman-Markey and CO2 regulation. By suppressing it, the EPA reveals its political nature, and without honest debate, takes sides.

If that’s not enough to raise your hackles, here’s a link to an economic analysis of the “cap-and-trade” bill by some smart people who actually read it. Print this up and get it out there.

There are ways to proceed towards clean energy that do not entail the hardship, debt, and inequality that Waxman-Markey will bring. Why are Republican alternatives not being debated? Are we becoming a totalitarian country now that Democrats control the federal government? FIGHT!
