‘The gingham dog and the calico cat, side by side on the table (campaign trail) sat.
‘Twas half past twelve and what do you think
not one or the other had slept a wink!……’
(Next morning found no sign of the cat and pup)
‘……The truth is this, They ate each other up!’
Sorry I can’t remember to whom to attribute this poem, but it is old and it is not mine. As the fury of this ‘political’ show goes on, this poem keeps coming into my head!
