Your first few paragraphs really did tap into what it feels like to be a conservative in America. I’d like to see more of that kind of sincere honesty. That said, i do understand why parts of the republican establishment have gone after her. Fair or not, ready or not, she was on the presidential ticket and lost by a big margin. Polls read loud and clear the fact is she cannot offer a presidential ticket win. However she has enough active loyalists to lock her into the nomination. Thus Palin for all of her good very likely represents an 8yr Obama white house. The conservative movement needs Palin but it also needs the white house. It can have both but only separately.
As a side note some of her fans need to be more fair to her. She is human. Stop projecting all your hopes onto her. She has much good to offer. Fair or not conservatives have to deal with a double media standards which means we can not get away with Joe Biden moments. She has to be able to outsmart the media or at least keep them at bay. Bush was crap at handling the media howd that turn out? Palin certainly is of a trustworthy character to be potus but she needs more skills. Giver her time to grow and develop and find her voice without being tied down with McCain. She got taken out of the oven to early once already. Giver her time and room to get it right if she does gets some sort of a second chance.
