I have no confidence that the more dire predictions about a power grab by Buraq Hussein Obama are not accurate. The “cornered and wounded animal” simile above is accurate. The odds of the 2010 elections being honestly counted, or even happening at all are not good. Consider, that after the summer recess, when for the first time members of Congress are going to have to face their constituents about what they have done; that they are going to be very, very, afraid. Unless ACORN/COI goon squads attack the constitutuents; every meeting is going to be like the one that Claire McCaskill’s staff had yesterday. 1000+ people tearing them new bodily orifii over Obamacare, 25 there in support. While the media gave better than equal coverage to the 25; if there are honest elections they cannot reverse the votes.
Our media and political [both parties] elites have avoided all of the trauma of the economic collapse. They intend to continue to do so. The politicians, especially Democrats, would be more than willing to finally shred the Constitution to hold on to power.
I disagree with Ms. Rubin about the media possibly turning on the Democrats. The only way that their elites can avoid economic collapse is if they accept open government subsidies and formalize the employer-employee relationship with the government. That will not happen if the Democrats lose absolute power. They have lost their credibility happily. They will not lose their wealth or their claim to power.
We are in a lull. I suspect that in the next year to two years the “Cold Civil War” we have been in for decades will heat up. And we will determine if we are a nation ruled by our Constitution, or by whatever regime is in power.
