Alan– what folks like you fail to mention every time the issue of “warrantless wiretapping” comes up is that the surveillance in the case referenced was limited to overseas contacts with terror suspects. There’s a big difference between that and arbitrarily eavesdropping on calls between two innocent Americans within our borders. Big difference.
Javelin — you ask the author to “explain that.” Read the piece. It’s explained pretty well.
Overall, this piece makes a strong case that the last thing on the ACLU’s collective mind is protecting “American civil liberties.” Nice work John. I will be visiting his blog more often.
