#38 Tomp: I suspect Gates’ home will be a police-free zone for quite a while.
Attention criminals: you likely won’t be bothered by the cops at Gates’ home, so help yourself to anything there.
One of the funniest moments of Obama’s campaign was when FNC showed up at Bill Ayers’ home to ask questions and Ayers called the police. A man whose life has been dedicated to killing police calls them when confronted by a reporter. Hilarious indeed!
Hilarity will ensue once again when someone actually does try to break in to Gates’ home. Wouldn’t you love to be one taking that 911 call? Here’s how I see it going:

CALLER GATES: Someone’s trying to break into my house!
911 OPERATOR: May I have your address, sir?
CALLER GATES: No you may not! Do you know who I am?
911 OPERATOR: Sir, your number has been flagged and indicates that you recently refused to cooperate with an officer who was called to your house. This number is for emergencies only, so unless you have an emergency, please get off the line.
CALLER GATES: What do you think I’m trying to do, lady, order a pizza?
911 OPERATOR: Have a good day, sir. Good-bye.

#49 Jack Olson: Spot on. For all Bush’s malapropisms & solecisms, Obama makes him look like a genius w/o the condescension.
Memo to White House staff: NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, let the President speak w/o the teleprompter.
