The notions of “first and only identification with the ummah” and integration into any given western, secular society are mutually exclusive.
The point of today’s propaganda surge (financed by some in Saudi Arabia, UAE, et al.) is that it is incumbent upon any Arab/Muslim westerner to recognize and acknowledge where his or her first identity lies. And that is not with the culture and democratic processes of the western society in which said individual finds himself living.
The gradual infestation of Islam (and the determination, with great patience, to make that a reality) is, to some extent, more dangerous than obvious and violent jihad.
