I’ll add this to your comment. The corruption and failure you see in Black-controlled local governments — Detroit being a prime example — is probably mostly due to the way “leaders” like Al Sharpton have sold Black folks on the notion that genuine Black culture is gangsta, anti-social, anarchic. (Ideas courtesy of Thomas Sowell.) God help us, when is the Black community going to get true leaders?
On another note, maybe the example of a Black Ivy League grad who’s actually raising his kids will help matters. (I know, he’s a mixed race affirmative action protege who never excelled in a real job, but in this case appearance is everything.)
And finally, I dread the inevitable collapse of the Obama presidency. Sharpton and Jackson will once again “lead” their community into an insane, racist plot that blames White conspirators and American race relations will be worse than ever. And my final prediction: White conservative politicians will gutlessly pander to this notion.
