Are you even aware that, on Page 16 of the House Health Care Proposal, if passed, would make it illegal to obtain a new health insurance policy from a non-government entity once the bill becomes law?

I’m not trying to defend the indefensible, but that’s not what it says. That section provides for all existing plans to be grandfathered. Once the law becomes effective, however, the grandfathered plans may not accept new entrants and all new plans will have to conform to the law’s guidelines. If you leave a grandfathered plan, your only options at that point will be conforming plans, but it need not be the government option (if, in fact, there is a government option in which case over time it will become the only option which, I think, is the whole point in the first place). This piece of crap legislation is quite bad enough. We don’t need to enhance its suck factor with misinformation.
