I agree with most part except that today’s restless youth who are pretty much against the Mullahs and their Islamic rule, in a decade or so they will opt for the easy life as we all do in our forties and fifties. The expression that ‘when you are young you are radical anti-establishment and leftist and as you get older you become more conservative and by the time you are old but still can think, you have changed by about 180 degrees’ is true. You would make a huge mistake if you believe that this youth will mature into fierce anti-mullahs who will bring down, change or reform the regime.

In all parts of the world it has always been the young who have revolted and brought about changes. There has been almost two generation since the Islamic takeover of Iran. The first generation who never saw what life was like before Islamic rule are in their thirties now. They are out of the picture. They are mostly married with a hungry family to feed. They work on average 16 hours a day. They have no energy to fight and far too much responsibilities to set aside and risk their own and family’s lives. The second generation are in their twenties and they are well suppressed. The slightest move against the regime and they are flogged, imprisoned and in even hanged. The teenagers are learning that they will be severely punished if they demonstrate any sign that they are against the regime. The next generation will be even more cautious. The regime is well and truly in control.
Whatever you decide to do with the Islamic regime, don’t rely on Iranians to bring down or reform this ruthless and barbaric regime, because they won’t be given a chance.
