One thing we’ll definitely learn from this phenomenon is the extent to which the Main Stream Media are willing to collaborate with the Obamunist agenda against their own interests. A popular movement such as the Tea Parties constitutes news more dramatic than anything but a mass murder. The media have a natural interest in seeing it develop and grow, even to the point of encouraging it with favorable coverage as they did with the “student movement” and “anti-war movement” of the late Sixties. If they collude with the administration in minimizing and / or ignoring it, we’ll know beyond all possibility of refutation that they no longer view themselves as impartial watchdogs over the public interest.
On the other hand, if they refuse to collude with the administration in this matter, it would suggest that an ingress into their ranks has opened for Web writers and stringers friendly to the pro-freedom / small-government movement. It will then be up to us to figure out how best to exploit that opening. I hope some bright folks are thinking about that already.
