Dark Helmet: if you want to be a part of changing how American society has viewed who is black and who isn’t, that’s a worthy goal. However, don’t pretend that the “one-drop” rule doesn’t exist and, therefore, BHO and others like him are making things up when they refer to themselves as black. And don’t pretend that nearly every black American who isn’t a recent African immigrant doesn’t have some white ancestry to a greater or lesser degree.
When it stops mattering, perhaps people will stop mentioning it.
