If he wins the presidency, it will be much harder for these charlatans to ply their trade.

You’ve got to be kidding.

First of all, I predict there will be no backlash for Obama from this base of black supporters. Those that knew of his relationship with Wright and of Wright’s message already saw Obama as their Manchurian Candidate. Those that didn’t will accept that it was the necessary politically expedient thing for Obama to do in order to calm the white folk’s fears. Obama may loose some support from his non-blacks, and that was the point of his condemnation of Wright, to reassure his non-black supporters. And that’s not cynicism on my part; it’s the reality of my personal experience.

Secondly, I do agree the smart thing for Republicans to do is to lay off the Wright issue because healing the race relations in America is not the responsibility of the President. It’s distressing to me that there are so many who seem to believe the opposite, such as the Obama’s and the white elitists base.

And since race relations in America is the platform that Obama chose to run on from the very beginning of his campaign with his ‘healing America’ mantra while attempting to not appear as a black candidate, then his post-racial caricature of himself once he realized it was a useful tool, he has set the stage to blame his defeat on race relations in America. That is inevitably how his loss will be portrayed.

The only way to avoid that is for the DNC to do the prudent thing by understanding that if Obama is their nominee, when he is defeated by McCain, they will be responsible for setting back race relations in our country.
