I remember when conservatives used to mock conspiracy theories. How long ago that seems after reading this thread.
Having been around the block enough to have seen this from both left and right, what is this insidious part of human nature that drives us to believe nonsense? Is being on the `winning’ side (in our minds) so important that we’re willing to trade our powers of reason?
