Obama’s speech on race was opportunistic. The reason he was giving the Philadelphia speech was because of his association with Wright. Talking about race has nothing to do with his Wright problem; it was a diversion, a shiny bauble intended to distract the press and public from his unsavory associates. Give them a Big Think piece on race in America and they’ll lay off on Wright.
