venividivici nailed it. ISLAM is the root cause of all this, not poverty, not discrimination, not anything else. And people need to stop believing that America is immune to this disease. Forget the Second Amendment – that can be struck down by a new amendment. The only real difference between the U.S. and Europe is that we have a proportionally much smaller Muslim population – less than 1% of the population, compared to an average of 5% in EU countries. If Muslims were 5% of the U.S. population – i.e., 15 million people – I flat-out guarantee they would be causing every bit as much trouble here as in Europe.
Individual Muslims can be persuaded to assimilate into Western norms IF they are surrounded by an overwhelming non-Muslim majority (as is still the case for most U.S. Muslims). If they grow up in a Muslim community, forget it. Their imam will preach the necessity of sharia, and neighborhood goons will enforce it.
