Obama dislikes things he does not understand, and he does not understand the economy. What does Obama understand and like? In a personal context, I suppose he loves his family, and his dog. However, in a professional context, who does he consider to be his peers? Not economists like Larry Summers, or Paul Volcker, even if they are members of his team. He dislikes the economy because he has no economic “father figure” to defer to or learn from, and hence he has left decisions about the economy up to congress…
