While I won’t argue with anyone that Al Sharpton is a blatant opportunist and I do think it’s important to uphold the decisions of the court, the fact that SO MANY shots were fired raises a red flag in my mind. It may not be a race issue (especially given the fact that some of the officers were black) but it does raise the concern that police officers (especially after having been given unconditional support by the Giuliani administration) may be a little trigger happy. And black or white, that’s scary.
