Romney’s compelling biography? Portman? Whitman? etc. Sarah Palin has the most compelling biography. Imagine for one moment if Palin was a Democrat – especially given the success of “Hope and Change.”
Palin is trapped within establishment expectations – from both Republican and Democrats. But she is not a member of the establishment. She will lead an insurgent campaign within the Republican Party, or she will seek more independence.
The Romneys and McCains and Giulianis of the world offer nothing but more of the same. Palin is more like Goldwater, or Reagan. She may never win another election, but she will continue to shake up the system as it continues to fail on an epic scale.
