For anyone who’s served in the military, particularly years ago, he is a very familiar type: the “ticket puncher.” They never really actually accomplished anything; it was all about holding the correct job, so as to get promoted to the next higher rank. That was their sole purpose in life. They could not be trusted; they would sell anyone down the river to get promoted. All appearances, no substance. Generally incompetent, they would blame anyone and everyone else for their failings (does this sound familiar?). Political to a fault, they never were actually competent in their jobs, but able to convince people that all was working well. despite the fact. And as they rose in the ranks, the damage they could cause due to their incompetence grew exponentially.

Consider the above in light of the President’s record. The correct Law School, but no real demonstrable record. Associations with the “correct” people to advance, but willing to kick them to the curb in the blink of an eye, when they have become an impediment. Constantly voting “present,” instead of making hard decisions that might reflect poorly on his judgment. The sly tricks to get ahead. All of the problems he deals with are somebody else’s fault, never his. The lack of competence, but constant “spin” to make it sound like it all is working well.

Aren’t you happy that this superficial ticket-puncher isn’t in command, running a war for us? Oh, wait…
