Executed they must be, but the malefactors must not be burnt at the stake using old copies of the Times as kindling, for this would only increase the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere.
Burying them alive would have similar effect, albeit over a longer time.
The solution is to blast them to space so that their traitorous impurities may never befoul the Earth again.
