I think Sarko may end up to be the best thing to happen to France in 40 years. Give it time, give it time.
As for the Germans being “nervous”, people who find themselves in an untenable situation SHOULD be nervous. We’re paying Germany’s defense costs, opposing us on issues of foreign policy is very shortsighted and foolish. Particularly when there is no short-term benefit to it except the ability to project adolescent peevishness.
