I kind of wish you conservatives and Republicans would get your act together and focus on basics. The Bush business aside, I’ve been pretty neutral politically and see the American political system as being basically a single party system made up of two parts, sort of a “Demorepublican Party”. Pure liberalism has its pluses and minus in government, as does pure conservatism, and you really need healthy chunks of each to have a government that can be forward thinking, yet be mindful of not wasting money and overextending budgets. The Republicans I know personally really just wish their party would focus on bread & butter issues like making government run more efficiently and getting taxes under better control, and just trashcan all that distracting and ultimately hypocritical family values nonsense that’s tied in with right wing Christian support. All this internal bickering over Palin has really shown how much you guys really don’t know what your party is suppose to stand for these days. Just hanging around with fingers crossed, hoping that Obama and the Democrats fail so badly that people will feel forced to vote Republican is probably not your best strategy. But I could be wrong — people can be pretty random in how they vote…..
