Dark Helmet:

Huh?

For the benefit of you, and anyone else who’s read my piece while standing on their head and squinting, I acknowledged that there’s a legitimate debate going on in Britain about the failure of Muslims and other immigrants to assimilate. You may have missed it – it was buried in the line ‘There’s a legitimate debate going on in Britain about the failure of Muslims and other immigrants to assimilate…’

And I’ve written on the subject here at Pajamas:

I’m not crazy about the way immigration to the UK has been mismanaged, but I have no problem with immigration per se. Britain’s Muslim population isn’t going anywhere for the forseeable future, and one of the points of this piece is that we shouldn’t discourage those who want to fit in.

As for your claim that ‘We are no more your cousins than the french, less actually.’

The 150 or so descendents of my dad’s brothers and sisters who are scattered across the US would probably take issue with that.

Lastly, I’d like to personally thank you for your efforts on behalf of Britain in World Wars One and Two. You’re pretty fiesty for a guy who must be – what? – 110?
