I just read her speech and I would take her at her word as to why she is dropping out of office. Two things seemed clear:
1. Fighting legal battles was costing Alaska money and the Governor’s time.
2. She want to speak out for state’s rights and smaller, localized government and be part of the movement outside of government. She cares about this issue, and understands that apathy leads to dependence.
“Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.” – Thomas Jefferson
For some people what has been happening to our country is crystal clear. They haven’t “taken the blue pill” of complacency. Some still see Independence critical to liberty and has faith in the American people.
I don’t know if it is proof that she is the real deal, but she certainly sounds like she gets it. The world needs more people that understand that our representatives’ primary purposive is to protect the Constitution and the Liberty it secures us.
