I believe her words. This is why better people don’t run, They want nothing to do with the stuff that passes for politics these days.
There has been talk recently that she will be doing fund-raising and campaigning for Republican candidates around the country. She, of course, would be massively effective at it. It is probably the best thing she could do for her country, plus it gets her on the ins with the party. Many will owe her favors. Furthermore, she will have met all the big donors and movers-and-shakers. It opens possibilities for the future.
Anyway, she couldn’t govern very effectively anymore, what with the constant lawsuits. A half-million in legal bills to defend against a barrage of spurious lawsuits? Insane. Like she says, she’s done in AK what she came to do. The pipeline is now a done deal. She cleaned a little house. Now, she is a distraction to AK. It’s the best thing she could do for AK, stepping down.
