Hilarious stuff!
These comments are a superb collection of anecdotes, hasty generalizations, rumors, and hearsay — indeed, all your favorite right-wing logical fallacies. “From the South” was the lone voice of reason amidst the juvenile babbling.
First, I doubt this story is true, since the Right is not exactly known for its ethics (eg, the “lying for Jesus” phenomenon). Second, if it does exist in some form, the indoctrination certainly cuts both ways, as “From the South” said. Indeed, it’s a false equivalency argument: in reality, the US is dominated by right-wing propaganda at all levels of society… except for a tiny percentage of universities, the last remaining oases of reason.
The Right LOVES to play the pitiful victim of liberal aggression. Like I said, hilarious!
