Enough with the moonwalk thing. Moonwalk was a dance move from a a dance style called Electric Boogie. Electric boogie was part of a movement called Hiphop in the early eighties. 1981-1983 I think. Hiphop was a brand new word back then. I guess you could say it was the first wave of Hiphop. Break Dancing, Electric Boogie, Graffiti and Rap. It started as a subculture from black ghettoes and ended up becoming a global phenomenon. Anybody remember “Don’t push me, cause I’m close to the edge…. It’s like a jungle sometimes. It makes me wonder why I’m keeping getting under”? or Herbie Hancock Future shock. Hiphoppers were dancing Electric Boogie to that. And Moonwalk was a part of Electric Boogie. Even in scandinavia they held Electric Boogie and Break Dancing contests where people were moonwalking all over the place.
