Amen sister. I have nothing against MJ whatsoever, and appreciate his particular contribution to American Pop culture. But the media frenzy over his death and the assertions of his breaking the color barrier, or being the greatest entertainer of all time is absurd. His personal problems and eccentricity, all of which you pointed out, should disqualify him from sainthood. But as you wisely pointed out, we live in a celebrity obsessed culture, and the currency of the trade is not how great you were–but how famous. Al Sharpton. Give me a break.
