Jackson was a victim of child abuse, and became an abuser (most probably; if I had been accused I would have submitted at a poly instead of paying out 20 mil).
Jackson had an OK voice (Man in the Mirror) and certainly was an amazing dancer. Fred Astaire commented positively on Jackson’s dancing. And he had the smarts to put it all together by working with the right people.
But purely from a talent standpoint, Jackson was not in the same league with Mick Jagger, never mind Lennon and McCartney.
Jackson’s music is totally forgettable, like Barbra Streisand’s.
