The PC police with regard to statements exist on both the Left and the Right.
It’s all part of the hyperpartisanship and hypersensitivity that plagues the infosphere today.
And I say this as someone who was attacked as a “racist” across the lefty blogosphere for questioning inflated crowd estimates for pro-illegal immigrant rallies and pointing out that carrying the Mexican flag was a bad idea. And as some who has been attacked by right-wingers for not immediately understanding that Barack Obama is in fact the Manchurian candidate.
