18. The Shadow:
“By the way the Government already pays for 60% of healthcare costs”
HERE IS THE BIG LIE. “Government” does not pay for ANYTHING. “Government” is not some sugar daddy with infinitely deep pockets. It is you and me.
The debate is not about free anything. It is about the mechanism that you and I use to pay for something we receive and who controls the system (and thus whether you live or die).
The bottom line is that, yes, the current system sucks. But, any “Government” system will just suck more. This rosy picture that government bureaucrats will make better decisions than corporate bureaucrats is simply mind bogglingly delusional.
