This is interesting, if true. I can only offer an anecdote.
I come from a conservative Catholic background. I recently married into a conservative Sunni family from Egypt. They are a prominent family throughout the Middle East. Family members range from Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf States, to Germany, France, Australia, UK, and the US. I know from personal experience that several family members attend evangelical Christian services. One woman, my wife’s cousin, is very interested in the RC Church and asks me questions about the Faith. In public, of course, these people still profess Islam, for obvious reasons.
I dislike modern Christianity for its liberalism, egalitarianism, softness, and modernism. However, Middle Easterners (Arabs) tend to be a pretty conservative, pious people, so maybe if more of them become Christian, they have will have a beneficial effect on the church.
