Reverend Eric Lee’s Anti-Semitism: A Personal Story [video]
I have mentored a young African-American girl in Harlem for five years. I don’t even see her color, and bring it up only now to explain why I can see this situation so clearly.
I was not there, but if I take your words at face value this is another atrocity – not just for Jews, but for all Americans (I could broaden it, but it’s America at stake here.)
I have never liked Obama. I am half-Jewish, but it wouldn’t matter if I was half-purple, as I have good instincts and I’ve never trusted a word that’s come out of his mouth. He is cocky and mannered. At least when Hillary makes mistakes, they are innocent. When this man makes mistakes, it turns out he is undercut by deep, frightening ripples of anti-Semitism, and possibly anti-Americanism (anti-Caucasianism too, possibly …and now it looks like he’s also, gasp! against good, hardworking Americans who may not have gone to Harvard and must, gasp! rely on religion or their family traditions of hunting and so on…)
The more I hear of him the more I am saddened.
For years I’ve been trying to get a journalism job abroad. I had hope in this election as long as Hillary was the frontrunner. I will stay if she gains momentum and wins.
Best,
Laurie
