Reverend Lee’s Response Sounds Like The Protocols of the Elders of Zion
1. I’d classify that as a real apology. It may be BS, but the wording is not “I mispoke.”
2. I haven’t read the Old Testament in a long time, but cannot recall the almight rebuking anyone after the Pharoh’s army bit the dust. Or the water. Perhaps it was in there, but the theme is a narrow escape, which makes celebration in order.
3. One can debate over exactly what is meant by “black power movement,” but by any definitions it was well underway before 1968. 1968 was years after the Voting Rights Act and Civil Rights Act. It is, to be fair, possible that BP got a lot more press in 1968 onward, but it hardly was organized post 1968. A quick Wikipedia search shows frequent uses by 1966. It may date to Robert Williams’ resistance to the Klan, which occurred in the late 1950s. The Black Panthers were organized in 1966, and in 1967 marched on the CA state capitol.
