Saying/thinking a nuc missile attack is “not likely” etc, is just plain NAIVE and IGNORANT. Did anyone, in their wildest dreams, think anyone would actually hijack jumbo jets and fly them into buildings?!! Arrogant complacency is dangerous. No one in this world can afford to allow ‘rougue’ nations/cultures to develop/have nuclear weapons. The Cold War, Cuban Missile Crisis are two perfect examples why we cannot fall into a ‘hopey-dopey-kumbaya-we aren’t aggressive’ rhetoric and mindset. The key word here is DETERRENCE. Countries are less likely to shoot at you when they KNOW you CAN & WILL shoot back!
Oppenheimer bemoaned the pandoras box even before a bomb was ever tested. He KNEW the horror of nuclear weaponry. There can be NO nuclear “war”. Only one nuclear ‘battle’. And folks… if this happens…, pray you are at ground zero
