At the risk of sounding paranoid, I will say that the perception that “the Jews are our misfortune/our problem” is almost universal.
Before the founding of the State off Israel, there were signs up in Europe saying, “Jews go to Palestine.” Now that the Jews are in Israel, the common demand is for the Jews to leave. There is no where the Jews can go where we are truly welcome to be: even in Israel and in the U.N. we are surrounded by those who despise us.

If Reverend Lee were white and spoke in similar tones about blacks, there would be a universal outcry.

But not when the targets are Jews.
