Beleiver
let me tell you what I beleive. I beleive that around two thousand years ago Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sin. When he said it is finished and sacrificed his life for me he showed me his love for me. It’s not about my heart or my experience. It’s about Jesus’ work on the cross.
The muslim has had an experience also. It is his experience and his journey, as does the atheist. They know in their hearts they are right. You see the heart is not to be trusted. Jesus is.
The work of the Spirit is to point to Christ. Jn6:13,14
If the spirit is telling you to look to your experience or your heart, beware.
As far as being obedient to the command ‘Love the lord with all your heart and sole and mind’ or any commandment; I prefere to rely on the work that Jesus did on the cross for me.
There is this little thing called sin that makes me unable to obey the way God’s holiness requires.
Praise God for Jesus’ work on the cross.
