Some churches, and most religious highschools offer mission trips to poorer nations. There are also secular groups which provide the experience of short-term work in deprived areas. We made it a family graduation requirement for our sons to go on such a trip. That experience will not only illustrate much of what you want to teach, but it provides a ready platform for a student to express contrary views, e.g. “My friends in Ukraine would disagree with you about that.”
