Israel is a minor power. They just look like a tough guy because of the neighborhood they live in. They came very close to loosing in 1973 and were pushed out of Lebanon in 2006. They do not have any capability to attack Iran or defend themselves after if Iran hits back – without the US as their shield and our troops blood on the ground. Their nuclear capability is probably one or two devices that have never been tested and may or may not work.
I respect Israel for what they have done with nothing in the Middle East. Buried back in my family were people who were put in the death camps who were not Jews. There were many of them also beside the Jews who were murdered. If most of the Middle East disappeared tomorrow the world would be a better place for it. But, it is not going to.
America does not have the troops or the money or the world power anymore to run to the defense of Israel if they do something stupid like attack Iran. And Israel knows it. The same applies to the US continuing to ignore the endless squabbling over Palestine. Obama is telling Israel that it is time for that to end — deal with it — now. Obama needs to take care of America first — and that is just what he is doing.
