Defeating this totalitarian ideology under the cloak of religion requires that the ideology be discredited. www.faithfreedom.org is a great example of an ex-Muslim deconstructing the ideology by using Islamic texts to demonstrate that Mohammad was a psychopath obsessed with obtaining power.
It appears to me that many of the extremists who embrace Islam are just thugs and sociopaths.
My great fear has been that Islamic culture leads to the severe inbreeding of these thugs and sociopaths – bringing democracy to these people will be a great challenge.
The claim that many are leaving the faith due to their conscience and the desire to be liberated from the thugs is positive – more hard evidence of the exodus of Muslims from the insanity of Islam will be very re-assuring.
