55. James:

“You love Obama (as does the majority of “mainstream” media personalities) because you know deep down he’s not white (whatever that means nowadays) and he’s a socialist socialist.”

You are wrong in several counts. When I picked Obama as a viable candidate, I didn’t see any color, it was his vision and fitness to be a good President. I didn’t care if McCain was white or black, he just was unfit. When i managed people, my decisions were color blind, but I also understood the cultural differences between whites, blacks, latinos, asians et al.

If Obama is wrong, there is a margin of error. 10% probably wouldn’t matter to me, 25-50% is questionable, more than 50% would be a real mistake. But the “wrongness” can be measured in time too, like the outcome of the bailouts, Guantanamo, GM, health care, etc. You have to wait until the fat lady sings.

56. HRPKathy:

“As far as shutting down the wars and emptying Gitmo – your guy lied to you.”

Please see my previous response.
I never saw it as lying. It’s a management process. First, he had to win an election. Once there, the military and diplomatic envoys presented a more complex situation. I’m disappointed that we’re still in Iraq but the classified information might support this decision. Governments don’t spill all the beans, as you know Bush/Cheney kept a lot under wraps. If you were President, telling everything might destroy your strategies. Not that I approve of this, it’s just a reality.

“My favorite example is the group who went into Harlem, presented “obama’s” positions, and asked the people how they felt about them. The blacks absolutely loved them – of course,”

I’m not surprised. That’s our dear Country . . . Customize in different ethnic/political groups and the results will be similar.
