When I read Obama’s book in 2004 I was struck by his manipulation of race. He assumed the role of the poor downtrodden man of color just trying to get by with his head hung low in a white man’s world. This was certainly not evident in his upbringing. He donned this cloak for political expediency. He knows nothing of personal racial strife because he has had none in his life. He never had to sit in the back of the bus or was denied a seat at the lunch counter. Like most things about him – it’s a crock
