I think it’s utterly nonsensical to believe that either current candidate would just lay down and allow the nomination to be handed over to someone else who’s not had to put in any work or money for it. Campaigning is gruelling work, and Democrats see it as the one enterprise whose fruits shouldn’t be taken from them for the common good.
