The word Algebra is an Arabic word but Algebra by itself is much older: Sumerians had already solved the second degree equation nearly two thousand years before Arab invasions.
However Arab Mulsim contribution to science is much smaller than we are told be it for real discoveries (either transmsission from India or China or made by dhimmis under Muslim rule) or transmission of Greek science where the Constantinople and Western Europe abbeys way dwarfes the Bagadad and Cordoba way.
