As a true Constitutionalist and the mother of a gay daughter, I am in complete agreement with Cheney. It has nothing at all to do with whether I think gay marriage is right or wrong, and it has everything to do with exactly what #5 Adam and #8 Old Soldier said above.
Federalism is in direct alignment with the Constitution, and as such, it is the only legal course of action to take.
Small government = More freedom.
