As a born-and-raised atheist nothing has made me more of a fan of Christianity than watching Islam expose itself for what it is. A violent religious-political movement.
You would have to go back hundreds of years to find large groups of Christians behaving in a vaguely equivalent manner.
Islam *explicitly* states that the goal of the religion is to wield ultimate political and social power. That is exactly *not* what the XTian text says.
I will never be a believer in Christianity. But as a proud believer in the ideals of our nation and of human freedom, I am an ally of Christianity in the long war against Islam.
